Returning to the orc settlement…

*Blodwulf walks towards Kalil and Saige. Blood still staining his tunic and his frilly sleeves, he still has an exhausted look on his face.* Prince Kalil, I know we've had our differences and we've hardly, if ever have seen eye to eye, but if I had to fight by anyone's side, it'd be yours. *Blodwulf extends his hand, showing his bruised and bleeding knuckles* Anytime, anywhere, Cap'n Blodwulf will be there anytime you need him. Risking sounding like a jerk, Prince Kalil, there is still a matter of payment.

Kalil puts a hand on the pommel of the dagger on his left hip as he hears someone approach. When he turns and sees it's Blodwulf, he drops his hand off the pommel of his sword and folds his arms across his chest.

"Blodwulf." His smile instantly drops. "I haven't forgotten. I didn't exactly come out here with gold to pass out so let me get back home and you'll get paid."

No, no, no. Prince Kalil. That's not the main reason I'm here. I'm here to check on you and your mother. The gold can wait. I might have a streak of greed, but I also have compassion for those I fight and bleed next to and that out weighs any gold.

Kalil raises an eyebrow at Blodwulf. "Okay. Well. She's fine now. Safe at home. And we made sure the kids got back to their families alright." He shrugs. "I appreciate the help. We've really gotta work on your skills though. A fighter should be drawing the attention of the enemy so their mages and people like me can do their thing. I'm great with just about any weapon you put in my hands but my skills are better used when the enemy is focused elsewhere."

“See you later! Tell everyone at the manor I said hiiiii!” Saige waves to Kalil as she walks back into the heart of the village. She nods a greeting to Blodwulf as she passes him.

She goes around the camp, making sure all the kids were returned to their families and the wounded are tended to.

Kalil turns to wave at Saige as she leaves. "See ya later. Like I said. I'll be back in a couple days. I've got something for you."

He turns back to Blodwulf. "As for you, I'll go get your gold. And I have another gift for you too. Meet me at the tavern tomorrow."

As Saige wonders around the village, she finds that most of the homes are still in tact. The walls seem to be more sturdy and defensible. There are a couple of funeral pyres burning and the fallen Orcs are being honored for their fight in protecting their homes. Most of the children have been returned to their families and their wounds have been treated.

There is one Orc child who appears to be lost and confused wondering through the town. The little Orc boy wipes at his dirty face and sniffles, looking all around.
