"It's alright. It was a long time ago." Vesta nods to Selena's words. "Perhaps I'll try meditation. I'm afraid I don't really have anyone to walk through it with me... My only other family is my sister, and she hates the sight, understandably."

She smiles gently.

"Granny likes to ramble on about how I'm destined for greater things than our small clan, and she would rather I find a teacher to help me learn my abilities than try to and teach myself. When the Princess invited me to visit Volaire, she was ecstatic at the possibility that I could find someone. It's a large city, after all."

"Um.. well.."
She glances to Edgar and Zinna, then back to Vesta.
"I can loan you some books I have. I can't promise I'll have the time to properly teach you, but I'll try to make time to help you learn to control the visions. I'm spread all over the place due to my jobs and titles, but of course I have to make time to help a youngling with the sight. What kind of bandolier would I be if I didn't?" She smiles warmly as she looks over the young woman.

Zinna smiles to herself as she lays out the cookies on a tray. Edgar quirks his eyebrow at her and Zinna just shakes her head. "I'll tell you later."

"Really? That would be wonderful!" Vesta's eyes go wide with excitement. "Of course, you don't have to, you sound incredibly busy and I wouldn't want to burden you. The books would probably help so much more than what I've been trying on my own..."

"Don't worry about it. The bigger burden would be to let the power grow unchecked. Better to tame it now before it becomes a problem." Selena smiles warmly, seeming far more relaxed and motherly than when she first arrived.

"How anti undead are you? I know, undead are bad and a waste of life force and blah blah, but they're quite useful and, well, I have a lot of them."

Vesta smiles back, no longer nervous about Selena's presence, and thinks for a moment.

"Well, I'm not sure exactly. The idea of them kind of gives me the jitters, but I've also never been around them. Just heard the stories. I wouldn't be their biggest fan, undead or darkness attuned folks, but I won't go out of my way to be uncivil. Anyone can be a good person, I suppose. Except werewolves."

"I didn't like them at first either, but I've come to learn the lessers can be controlled or destroyed easily enough and the greaters, for the most part, are people just like us. Just people that have been turned undead and now have extra abilities that make them useful in defending, rebuilding, transporting goods, and whatever else needs done."

Selena nods towards Edgar. "He's actually the main reason I was able to get over my distaste for them. He was my death knight guardian when I became a squire, and helped me out of visions and healed me from rather rough ones. Guarded me day and night. Now he's alive again, one of my knights, and a trusted friend of the family.... Which the alive again part is a longer story involving one of my charges and a sentient ring."

At the mention of Werewolves Selena snorts a chuckle, then kinda shrugs. "Well, as much as I hate to say it, werewolves in their human form can sometimes be alright. Depends on if they can control the blood lust. If they're still able to be a person, they should be allowed to continue. If they can control themselves when they shift and just hunt down deer and such, I don't go out of my way to hunt them. Not anymore. However when they shift, if they harm innocents... well that's when I get some new pelts. Same with vampires. So long as they aren't harming innocents and causing problems, I tend to let them be."
