In Search of Ancient Histories

The tavernkeeper jerks his chin at Blodwulf in recognition and reaches for a mug. He fills it from the keg and then sets it on the bar in front of Blodwulf. He then returns to cleaning cups and the counter.

~In The Embassy~

Roman sits at the table and starts sifting through his papers. "I don't think you're going to be happy with what we deciphered..." 

He takes a breath and picks a page up. He scans it for a second and then clicks his tongue. "Right, right. So, we know the texts talk about the old world. We were able to tell that much. But the texts are... Old. Very very old. I say that because a lot of the words and terminology they use is... Unfamiliar. Nothing really makes any sense in these books. Not with our knowledge today."

He taps the paper and sets it down, pointing to the word 'sisters'. "For instance, I found references to the Sisters but... I don't know what in the planes they are talking about. I recognize some of the terms they use but then they go using other terms I've never heard before in my life so..."

He huffs a sigh. "Basically, what I'm saying is, without someone who has ancient knowledge... We don't know what these books are actually saying."

Jade stands beside Roman at the table and watches as he speaks. She sighs when he says sisters.

"Well, I dont know much about them, but I do know the basics. The sisters are the ones who created existence. If order ever becomes unbalanced they wipe the slate and start anew. They are insanely powerful beings as you can imagine. There are two of them and for the purpose of this meeting we will not say their names. We shall refer to one as F and the other as D. The sister F created the fey and the sister D created the dragons. They also have a brother which is the embodiment of chaos. We know him as Hilock and he created the haltija. Though he is chaos he is a lot safer to deal with."

“That does make things… difficult.” Vesta leans back in her seat, crossing her arms as her brow furrows. “Is there anything that mentions song? Or a grove?”

She lets out a frustrated sigh.

“Again, this was a shot in the dark, but I really don’t want to walk into this place blindly.”

She taps her nails lightly against her arm, then looks to them both.

“Any ideas? Perhaps reaching out to the one you speak of?”

Roman sighs and begins sifting through his pages again, scanning each one for a few seconds before moving on to the next.

"Uhhh... No. Nothing in my notes about music or groves. But to be honest, I wasn't looking for anything about music or groves." He scratches his head. "I don't know where to even begin looking for that type of thing because the texts are so... Confusing, honestly."

Roman sighs and looks at Vesta and Jade. "Sorry. We tried."

Jade places a hand on Roman's shoulder.

"Thank you for taking on this task. I know you worked very hard on it and I appreciate you greatly for it."

Roman smiles at Jade. "Thank you, Baroness. I was happy to do it. It was interesting honestly."

He stands back up, picking his papers up as he goes. "I'll uh... Be around if you need me."
