Buttons and Bones

After a weekend of fighting werewolves and various fire creatures, Saige passed out in Storm’s room before the sun could go down, leaving her friend to pack the bags. Several hours later, in the middle of the night, Saige bolts out of bed and shakes Storm awake.

“Storm, wake up, come on we’ve gotta go see Mr. Spiky Bone Man!” She excitedly paces around the room, carrying the giant button.

Storm bolts upright as soon as Saige begins shaking her and a knife appears in her hand. She groggily looks around and then relaxes when she sees it is Saige who woke her. "Oh. Mornin'." She yawns. "Is it morning already?" She glances towards the window and her eyes widen but then she just laughs. "Already ready to go huh? Alright alright. I'll get dressed and we can head to the stables for the cart and horses. Everything is packed already."

She tosses her legs over the side of the bed and then looks up at Saige. "You know, it may be a little more dangerous to leave at night. But I have good eye sight so we should be fine. I'm sure you do too now." She begins pulling on her armor and sheathing her swords before reaching for the crackling glaive on the wall.

"It's close enough, I do better at night now anyway." Saige can't stay still as she waits for Storm. "Plus if we leave while it's still dark, we might see some mushrooms running around!"

She grabs her sword and throws a hood on, then bounces on her feet at the door, grinning widely.

"Should we tell Miquella we are leaving? Or should we just run so he can't stop us?"

Storm heads over towards the door with glaive in hand. "I'll leave him a note. I'm sure he's sleeping right now and I don't want to disturb him." She turns and heads back over to her desk and grabs a quill and paper. She scribbles on the paper quickly, sprinkles some loose white powder on the page, and then rolls it up. "Alright. Let's go. I'll pass this to Claire on the way out." She grins. "Let's catch some mushrooms!"

Saige beams as they walk though the guild and waves to Claire as they depart. When they get to the stables, she immediately begins talking to any animals that are awake, apologizing to the ones that aren't. She throws her arms around Fred's neck excitedly.

"Oh my gosh Fred we're going to have so much fun, like, you thought running around glowing was fun? We're going to go see the forest and Mr. Spiky Bone Man and mushrooms and ghosts and..." She rambles on for a minute, making sure to also show the horse the giant button.

Eventually, she turns to Storm and says, "Okay okay, so, I don't really know how to get there. Although if it's towards my house, we can go that way," Saige points in a direction, "and then turn left and pass the potato rock, then turn right until you get to the really big tree..." she continues her directions, speaking rapidly. "Or if you know how to read a map, that would work too."

"Thankfully, I can read a map." She chuckles as she gets the horses, including Fred, ready and attached to the cart of supplies to be taken to Tuatha. "Well, I think everything is ready to go. So when you're ready, hop on up on the cart and we'll get going."
