Zuigrii slips into the room right before the doors close and sits as close to storm as possible. He watches everything happening and switches between watching Saige, Miquella, and Connor.
When the mention of being an emissary comes up he smirks and then frowns at the potential implications.

For a moment he looks sadden, "Guildmistress Rachelle."
"Yes it was. The Baroness procured them. Then when I was but a recruit I negotiated for them and gave them to the guild." he thinks for a moment and then looks forward again, "It has always been brought to light. Not once was it hidden. If I was asked about it I would have answered."
He looks to Conner with a smiles, "So since in your deceleration since Saige is a Political Emissary for the Gobinoids and Calista. She should not be charged with Assault on a Baroness with Intent to Kill, Assault of a Kingdom Citizen with Intent to Kill? Then what ramifications should you suggest? Since this case will be the deciding factor of future cases involving Political Emissary being able to do as they wish without concern. What would stop a country such as Leib Olmai or another political affiliated group, for example, from sending a political Emissary to our Kingdom and killing or assaulting our nobles or citizens? If it is decided here and as you want. They would be able to walk away without issue since they would have 'Diplomatic Immunity'."
He gives a look for more of curiosity. He is only focused on Connor and no one else. The future king of this kingdom.

Saige lets out a low growl, still glaring at Miquella, but makes no motion to move or do anything more.

Connor unwaveringly meets Miquella's gaze, "The woman who birthed me taught me to rule through fear. She taught that a citizenry who recognizes the power and firmness of your hand will fold to your will."
For the first time, Connor sighs with genuine emotion, his face softening as he speaks, "My mother, however... the woman who raised me... she taught me that a leader is only as powerful as the strength of loyalty of those below him. As such, no, I would not suggest a precedent that would weaken the kingdom's position by inviting freelance transgressions in the name of diplomacy. However, I would expect the leadership of this country to look at all sides of a situation before placing it under the scrutiny of the letter of the law."
Connor stands, pushing in his chair and resting his hands upon its scrollworked frame. "I have to admit something to you, Guildmaster. I said at the beginning of this that I would illustrate to the Court the absurdity of these charges. Well, I did so through deceiving you. You were so quick to defend and dismiss your own actions or absence thereof by diverting the blame on your previous guild leadership or your own ignorance of the state of things. But as the current leader, these are all your responsibility, whether it was you that originated them or not. So should you not face penance for your own failure? Why, because you didn't know? Because 'someone else did it before you'? The same applies for Saige. I believe I've demonstrated that regardless of the title or position one holds, their knee-jerk reaction is going to be the preservation of self at whatever means are available to them."
He turns and looks at Saige, "There is not question as to whether Saige's actions were misguided. The question you are posing is what example we should set. It is my opinion that the example we should set is one of compassion. That we as a nation do not turn inward when there are active threats around us. That rather than grasping at the law to find a way to punish, we look at the spirit of why those laws were established and use them to improve the lives of citizens."
His expression goes firm once more, "To revisit and expand upon my initial statement, it is my recommendation that the charges brought against Saige be summarily dismissed due to their inapplicability. In recognition that the situation is of a multinational nature, I would turn to the leaders of the nations involved and ask if such harm was done to warrant the implications of war. If not, then perhaps it would be beneficial for all for Saige to be educated rather than punished. Let us be a nation of compassion and reason rather than the tyrannical nightmare that it would have been at the hands of others who came dangerously close to condemning this nation."

Miquella sighs, "Compassion is needed. Which is why I was going to give the suggestion of a probation that allowed Saige to effectively control her rage, to train under someone who has learned to control theirs such as Prince Kalil, learn the laws of this nation that she...visits? So often, such as Baroness Jade, and that she be made to find a teacher to help guide her in a path that can allow her to use and control her newfound powers. Such as our neutral alliance with the Lich of the Graveyard."
He shakes his head, "Allowing Saige to continue to act recklessly without a proper check could result in endangering herself or those around her. Which is why this is the opportunity to show the people of this country that we as nobles can be understanding. That yes. We have to be tough at times, and lay down the law, but she did not kill them outright. And I am sure if you were to ask those here such as Baroness Jade and the Citizen Zuigrii and many others who smirk and grin at your comments to me that they did not want this to begin with. But that does not warrant the deed was done. That is something I understand, but I also think about the trial of Claire Baker. How she was sentenced. This is simply a repeat but on different sides and different circumstances. A women who did not know anything about the law and doing what she believed was right, and being punished for it; because, she broke the law."
He looks to the Seneschal and the King, "I believe that Saige should be given the sentence of probation with the previous mentioned terms. I believe that will show that we are willing to view Saige as the 'Political Emissary', which was never made public notice, she now is. I do not believe that she should go unpunished. As doing so will allow future cases to be messy. It will set the future expectation that political emissary can now come into our Kingdom and do as they wish. "
He then looks to the King directly, "As for these newfound allegations to me. I will declare here and now in front of all the nobles of this court. That if you so order I will step down as Guildmaster of the Guild of Light. I would relinquish all powers and controls of the Guild to the Guild Second."

He looks to Connor "As for just giving the charges now...I just found out about the attack at the gathering of hero's. That is why it is not being brought up until now."
