Whether you are a veteran LARPer, new to LARP, or new to Roleplaying in general, an exciting world awaits you in the Ariadnian Empire!
This past year and a half has been devastating for the majority of people all around the world. Life is just now starting to return to some semblance of normal since the CDC announced that fully vaccinated adults can safely gather in large groups again. We here at The G.A.M.E. have taken that and run with it, dedicating hundreds of hours to ironing out the details of Volaire LARP and preparing the Castle for live events!
There is still a lot of work to do before the event, but we are excited to say that we will be up and ready to release you from the stresses of normal everyday life and immerse you in a High-Fantasy world of wonder!
Please reach out to us if you would like any specific information or to create a character. Our staff is standing by to help you dive into our vast (and sometimes rather chaotic) world!
Come play with us!
11 March 2021
We've been following the progress of the COVID-19 Vaccinations and are excited about the following news story from the Georgia Department of Public Health:
Beginning Monday, March 15, 2021
Atlanta – The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and Governor Brian Kemp today announced the state will expand its vaccine eligibility March 15, 2021, to include adults aged 55 and older, individuals with disabilities and certain medical conditions.
Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are already eligible for vaccination. This expansion now includes disabilities caused by an injury (e.g., traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury), a disability due to a longstanding condition that could cause vision loss, nerve damage or loss of a limb, or a disability due to illness such as ALS or multiple sclerosis.
The medical conditions referenced are:
Chronic kidney disease
Overweight and Obesity
Sickle Cell Disease
To find a vaccine location near you or to schedule an appointment, log on to https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-vaccine. For individuals aged 16 and 17 who are in an eligible population for vaccination, Pfizer is the only vaccine currently approved for these ages. Please schedule an appointment at CVS or Walgreens or at one of the GEMA mass vaccination sites to ensure Pfizer vaccine is available to you.
This is exciting news for us because it means that the eligibility and availability of the vaccine is increasing dramatically and will soon make it so that everyone will be able to get vaccinated!
What does this mean for us? It means that Live LARP Events are in our very near future!
It's been a year now since the COVID-19 monster flipped the world upside down. Many families have suffered, and our hearts go out to those who have lost friends and loved ones due to this unprecedented pandemic.
Here in Georgia, the bans on gatherings have been lifted for some time now, but based on the data available to us, we decided that the risk was still too great to justify having Live LARP Events due to the severity of the risk of transmission of the coronavirus.
However, there is light at the end of this tunnel as there is new data available to us. According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, "virtually anybody and everybody" will be eligible for a vaccine by April.
This is fantastic news for us and, while we do not currently have any events planned for this year, the COVID-19 vaccinations being more readily available does mean that events toward the end of summer could be a possibility.
As it stands, we have not determined that the COVID-19 vaccination will be a requirement to participate in Volaire LARP Events. However, it is highly encouraged that all players get the vaccine as soon as possible. All Volaire LARP Staff Members will be required to have the vaccine.
As we learn more, we will continue to have internal meetings and will pass on what we learn to our community. In the meantime, we hope that everyone stays safe and healthy!
