Zukar's shoulders droop slightly. "Jedash? Said that?"

He looks down and his eyes shift around as he falls into deep thought.

"I grew up with these people, Vesta. I know how this works. That was not an idle threat. Not if it came from Jedash." He lifts his gaze to look at Vesta. "Kalil would have already killed you if he was that pissed off. You, Vesta. Not the kingdom."

He sucks in a breath and sits up a little straighter. "Kalil has a temper, that's absolutely true, and it is for that very reason that I think this was Jedash threatening us."

Zukar sits back in his chair again, looking at his lap now. "You sent the missive to Nymera? What did it say, Vesta?" He sits up and looks at her. You got Jedash's attention. What did you say?"
