"I see... that sounds... interesting. So, mostly just busy work and fetching things? Oh well. Thank you for your help. You know, I am working on learning darkness spells if you know anyone who has some they're willing to share. Balasar gives a polite nod.
"Yep, I haven't been a member for too long, but it's nice to know I still get a discount. I really do hope this situation can settle down some day soon and life can finally return to normal. Owl feathers probably wouldn't be in such short supply if owls themselves weren't in short supply."
He then looks through his coin pouch while continuing to speak.
"I do have an owl feather, but I'm trying to save them up for something currently. Would you be able to break a mithril?"

After finishing with his work in the Mages Guild, he heads over to the counter where one of his fellow members is working. He straightens out his clothing before he speaks, holding a letter in one hand and a mostly hidden discomfort in his expression.

Balasar smiles back and takes a seat.
"Currently I'm not much further, but I am up to enough magic two potentially cast two 7th level spells, so it is time for me to go into my specialization."
Balasar pulls out his own spellbook, Bound in black leather with a blue stone inset in the center, with simple parchment pages inside as he opens it up.
"As is probably clear, that specialization will be Necromancy."

Balasr avoids commenting at all on his treatment from the half-fiend, instead choosing to silently follow and enter when the flesh golem opens the door, giving it a quick look of fascination as he enters. Balasar then gives a bow towards Jade when the door shuts behind him.
"Good day, I hope I'm not interrupting any important business."
He glances towards her book before rising from the bow and continuing.
"If I remember right, you had offered to help teach me darkness magic not too long ago, 'right out of your own book' if memory serves correctly. I've come wondering if that offer is still on the table, baroness."
He approaches the desk and stops before reaching it completely, keeping a respectful distance.
"I truly do hope it is. Because, from everything I've seen, there is no better darkness magic user in the entire kingdom, and I would be honored if I could learn from you. I would be sure to repay you in any way I can for the lessons you offer."

He takes a moment to appreciate the opulent atmosphere and the displayed insignia of his home before he walks up to the desk and quickly clears his throat to try to catch the attention of the man doing paperwork.
"Excuse me, could you please help direct me on which way to go to find baroness Jade? That is, if she isn't too busy at the moment."
He then waits patiently for the man to answer, taking one last glance around as he does.

Leaving the Mage's Guild, Balasar heads towards the Seshtau embassy. He shudders slightly as he sees the building, remembering being in the middle of the sea of undead that spewed out of there to ward off the Leib-Olmaians, before he goes in looking for baroness Jade.

Balasar comes back to the Mage's Guild from the Tavern and makes his way towards the Library, politely nodding towards any other members he comes across on his way. Once in the library, he begins to look around for books within his access on a variety of topics, ranging from telepathic communication, to magics capable of copying down large amounts of information quickly, to magical wards being used to capture creatures, and anything about 'plant dragons', though that last topic may be very unlikely to turn up anything.

Either way, I haven't gotten a chance to see the tavern much anyways since really getting swooped up into all these goings on, and it'd be nice to actually get a drink after all this. Balasar's smile will falter slightly before he quickly recovers.
"Oh, I didn't know that wasn't allowed. Thanks for letting me know before I ended up making a mistake."
He'll look back to Vesta with a slightly apologetic look, giving the back of his head a rub.
"Well, anywhere else you think we could talk about what you wanted to speak on? A warded room seems to be off-limits to nonmembers, sorry. I mean, surely there's somewhere else that would work."

Balasar will give a quick bow in response to her curtsy, and when he rises he has a curious look to what she would want to speak with him about that would be so secret.
"Oh? Well, I'm sure they'll allow us to use a warded room. I'm an initiate so I don't have full privileges to all the wards, but I'm certain we would be allowed to speak in one for a little while."
He'll look over to the woman who led him here, and give a slight nod, pausing only for a slight moment before speaking to her.
"Could you lead us to a warded room? I need to have a private conversation with my friend here."
