The Cold Shoulder

"We are a mercenary collective. The contract we sign is our law, the morality only as black and white as the ink on the paper. Last I heard, a very large portion of us were fighting in a small boarder war. They dropped me off somewhere months ago to continue my study of the blade for an upper hand, and told me to arrive here the other evening. I feared I was late to meet back up with the detachment.they were supposed to bring me back to the front line to arm them up with higher quality weapons while I repair all of the broken ones. But it looks like they are the ones who are late for my retrieval and briefing on how the job going."

"Hm... Interesting. So you and your group were aiding in the border fight? Which side was your group aligned to?"

"I was not given that information. Just make this and that, go here and finish your studies."

With a shrug "wasn't in my contract to know the sides"

"Let's hope for your sake it wasn't for Lilith's cult."

With those last words, Jade stands up and exits the tavern.

Miquella looks at the conversation and then places a gold down for his meal and another for a tip. “I must apologize. I must excuse myself. Storm if you need any healing please come to the guild of light and we will assist where we can.” He gets up and makes his way out of the tavern.

Storm watches Jade and Miquella leave, waving as they go. "Nice to meet you both!" She turns to Hutch and Zuigrii. "So you," Looking at Hutch. "Are basically a mercenary for hire is what you're saying?" She turns to Zuigrii. "And you just happen to be passing through? From what I've seen, this town could use the extra swords. Seems the place is full of mages. They need some tough fighters to protect them."
