A small campsite near the tavern

After the weekend gathering of heros comes to a close the port town of Volaire begins to quiet down. The town gaurds can be spotted on almost every street corner. They stay vigilant to keep the area clear of any spider like threat. But even though the current area is clear there is a tense feeling in the air. Everyone walks quickly with purpose while looking over their shoulder in paranoid fashion.


Jade can be seen walking past the almost empty tavern. She does not stop to check inside. She walks a small ways past the building to a small campsite. The outside has a table with chairs surrounding it. Jade approaches and looks around as if waiting for someone.

Holding hands, two males in robes of black and purple arrive at the small campsite shortly after Jade arrives. While their raised hooded shadow their faces, it is easy to tell them apart. One wears a black lace blindfold and has a line of small black runes tattooed on one side of his face running down his forehead, past his eye, to his chin. In his hand he leans on a staff made of a large spinal column topped by a human-looking skull grasped by two skeletal hands complete with forearm bones. The other has black pits around his eyes and wears savage looking makeup of red upon his face, a dagger made of bone sitting in a sheath of unfinished leather sitting on his hip. Both of these individuals walk directly up to Jade and bow deeply. The one who some know as Aralin has a faraway look in his eyes and a blank expression on his face, as is his usual. The other, Xzean, has a severe frown on his face, the lines of it pulling both his brow and his mouth into deep set lines.

Jade turns around and bows her head slightly in return. She reaches out and places a hand on their clasped hands.

"Don't look so down. Today we make the trip to meet the baroness. Your paperwork has been successfully filed."

Aralin tilts his head, his distant look turning to confusion before very quickly filtering from a frown to a smile. He nods and says, "That is good. It is where the three of us should be, now...the future is blurry. The blinding pain from before still obscures my sight." He frowns again, shaking his head wildly as if to clear it of an unwanted thought.

Xzean's frown doesn't seem to move an inch, but he bows slightly in response to her words along with a nods. He responds, "Excellent. Thank you, Lady Jade. Kindness is not something either of us are very used to", he ends with a shrug.

Jade leads them to a nearby carriage. It is small and simple. The driver is an elderly man with short silver hair. Jade hands him a few peices of gold and then hops in the back with the others. They ride east out of town towards Seshtau.

The two enter the carriage without complain or resistance, Xzean insisting on holding the door for Jade.
