The Governing Laws of the Ariadnian Empire
By the hand of Ser Jundara Triumoore as dictated by His Majesty King Vlastimir Daggerheart
On this 14th day of Anagantios in the year of 387, I declare the following items as the official governance of the Ariadnian Empire. Those who reside within Her territories as well as those visiting from other lands are bound by the laws dictated here.
It is the will of His Majesty King Vlastimir Daggerheart that willful violation of the laws herein, as convicted by a Knight or Noble of this land, shall result in sanctions as defined here, or as interpreted and delivered by the attending Knight or Noble.
A citizen may challenge a conviction or sanction brought upon them by rights of Noble Court, the call of which must be honored by a trial of no fewer than five Kingdom Nobles. The judgement of the Noble Court shall be final and compulsory.
In situations of High Treason against the Crown, an attending Knight or Noble shall have the indominable right to pass judgement and administer Noble Justice without intervention of the Noble Court.
As of this writing, the following laws shall govern The Ariadnian Empire and Her people:
- The
teaching, study, and practice of Emotion Magics and the possession or use of items containing or forged with Emotion Magics is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by a fine of no fewer than 50 gold pieces per violation.
- The
act of producing, processing, and using Poisons is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by a fine of no fewer than 10 gold pieces per violation.
- The
teaching, study, and practice of Elemental, Necromantic, Light, Dark, and Void magics as well as the possession or use of items containing or forged by the same is hereby protected under the Laws of this kingdom and shall not be limited nor prohibited by any governing body unless sanctioned by Kingdom Writ.
- Murder
, as so defined the unlawfull and unnecessary taking of a sentient being's life, is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by a fine of no fewer than 100 gold pieces per violation.
- Assault
of a noble, as so defined as the act or attempts to cause bodily harm to a Noble-born or appointed citizen through willing action or negligence, is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by a fine of no fewer than 500 gold pieces as well as a lawful penance as determined by the assaulted Noble.
- Murder
of a Noble, as so defined as the unlawful and unnecessary taking of a Noble-born or appointed citizen's life, is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by death.
- Theft
of another citizen's property is prohibited under the Laws of this kingdom and is punishable by a lawful penance as determined by the attending Noble or Knight.
- The
Nobles of the Ariadnian Empire are the Eyes, Ears, and Voice of The King. A Noble has the right to declare a Noble Order when appropriate for the safety, protection, or service to the kingdom. A Noble Order may temporarily redefine, remove, or augment these Laws. Citizens are to comply to noble Orders as though they were spoken by the King.
- Repeated
violation of the laws stated herein is subject to increased sanctions as interpreted and delivered by the attending Knight or Noble.
