A Royal Soldier walks into the tavern. He is dressed in gold and red livery, and has a black and gold favor hanging from his belt, upon which is embroidered the image of a scythe with a blade on each end.
He walks over to the missive board and begins ripping the existing missives off of the wall. Once the board is clear, he pulls a new parchment out of a scroll case and pins it to the board. Once it is secured, he removes a short wand from a pouch on his hip along with another small piece of parchment. He seems to study the parchment for a moment and then looks up at the missive board with an expression of concentration.
The soldier makes a gesture and mutters a few words, then taps the missive with the wand. The parchment glows briefly and the soldier lets out a sigh of relief. With that, he turns on his heel and leaves the tavern.
The missive reads as follows:
From the desk of His Majesty King Arioch Daggerheart:
The protection of the citizens of this kingdom is the utmost concern of His Majesty.
As such, efforts are being taken to ensure the continued protection of the Ariadnian Empire and her citizens. To that end, the following laws are now in effect as of this posting.
- Due to the suspicions of corruption in the once pure art of Magic, Light Magic is hereby illegal. Anyone calling upon Light, owning, buying, selling, trading, or using items that contain, control, or were created by Light Magic will be put to death
- The Guild of the Champions of Light is hereby and furthermore disbanded. Anyone claiming to be a member of this guild will be brought in for questioning and suspicion of treason.
- Guildmistress Laeria is henceforth stripped of the title "Guildmistress"
- The fugitive known as Laeria is to be captured upon sight. If possible, she is to be kept alive until she can be questioned by a Kingdom Official.
- Void Magic may be studied and practiced only by individuals to whom a Royal Decree has been issued. Anyone practicing Void Magic without a proper decree will be brought to the palace for questioning.
- It is the personal honor and pleasure of His Majesty King Arioch to name a new member of the Royal Court. Lady Lilith has been named Inquisitor to the King. May she serve the wellbeing of the Kingdom for many years to come.
