Returning to town

Its a sunny afternoon in Volaire. The normally busy streets are quieter than usual. Less townsfolk can be seen going about their day, but that's due to the famon. What little amount of people that can be seen are starting to look thin and tired. The lack of food is really starting to show. 

From the Seshtau embassy Jade can be seen exiting with her flesh golem protector. She carries a wicker basket and makes her way to the tavern. Inside is even more bare than the town square it sits in. Jade walks up to the counter and places the basket on top. She flags down the only person working, if you can call it working at all with how everything has become. 

"It isn't much, but its all I could scrape together for the time being. Its mostly hard tack and root vegetables.  Please pass these out and take some for yourself as well."

The tavern keeper takes the basket and bows to Jade. "Thank ye, Baroness. I'll see it were done."

He walks off towards the kitchen with the basket.

In the far corner of the Tavern, Vesta sits poised with her usual grace. She waits patiently for the usual crowd to shuffle in so she can pass the time with song. 

 When the door opens and Jade enters, exchanging a few words with the tavern keeper, Vesta rises and makes her way over and drops into a curtsy.

“Baroness! What a surprise. It’s not every day we’re graced with your presence. To what do we owe the honor?”

She offers Jade a warm smile, equal parts genuine and playful.

The door flies open a moment later as Saige bursts in, Storm in tow. Her eyes light up as she spots Vesta and Jade, and she breaks into a toothy grin.

“Aha! I knew I smelled them!”

Without hesitation, she grabs Storm’s hand and pulls her towards the pair, her excitement nearly bouncing off the walls.

“Hi Jadeeee!” She calls out. When she turns to Vesta, her energy falters a little, and her voice softens into something more sheepish. “Hi Vestaaaa…”

Jade returns the curtsy to Vesta and smiles.

"I'm at a standstill with my work so I thought I would see how everything was in Volaire. How have you..."

Before she can finish, her words are cut short by Saige's greeting.

"Saige! Storm! Oh I've missed you!"

Jade goes to hug them both.

Storm let's Saige drag her up to the Baroness and seer. She chuckles as they reach them and Saige greets them both. She returns Jade's embrace.

"Hey, Baroness. How've you been?" She turns to Vesta and gives her an awkward smile. "Hi, Vesta. Hope you've been well."
