Returning to town

Saige stays behind Storm, uncharacteristically quiet as Jade talks about Tuatha. The moment Vesta mentions the Seshtau villages, however, her energy returns in full force. 

“Ooh! Ooh! Jade! Did Dennis send you a letter? Please tell me he did! I taught him, like, sooo many games so that when you visit, you can play with everyone! You’d really like pinecone wars!”

 She throws her arms around Storm, hanging on her affectionately.

“I’ve really been hoping you’d let us back in to talk to those guys again, you know, the ones that killed everybody? I barely got to talk to the masked guy! I only got in a few stories! I need like, a few more days to tell him everything I wanted to!”
 

Jade laughs.

"If he did I haven't seen it yet. If anyone has it, it would be Maximilian. And I did hear you brought me some presents in the form of torturees. I'll have to go see about that. You all could come watch me work if you like."

Storm chuckles and flags down the tavern keeper. "How about some drinks while we play catch up? I feel like this may take a while. A lot has happened since we last saw you, Baroness. Or it feel that way, anyways."

She orders herself some Draconian whiskey and the tavernkeeper looks to the others expectantly.

Vesta turns to the tavernkeep, brushing a crumb from the counter.

“I’ll take a glass of wine, if you have it, please.”

She flashes him a tired smile, then shifts her gaze towards Jade and Saige.

“A lot has happened, indeed.” Her eyes briefly flick to Saige with a raise of her brow before settling back on Jade. “I think I’ll pass on watching you work, though. That’s not really my scene.”

 She waves a hand dismissively.

Saige shakes her head fervently at the tavernkeep.

“I’m good! I don’t want anything.”

Then, catching Vesta’s glance, she immediately ducks behind Storm again. From the safety of her shoulder, she peeks out and perks up when something else springs to mind. 

“Oh! Jade!” She says brightly. “Thank you again for letting my family stay in that house in Seshtau. It was really nice of you! You don’t have to worry about it any more though, I moved them to Kog’Thrak!”

She leans out a little further now, tone eager.

“And just let me know when you want me to come release that guy with the mask! I’d love to come help!”

"Its your house Saige. That plot of land and the house on it belongs to you. If you ever need a place to go it will always be there for you."

Jade holds up a hand to the tavern worker.

"Nothing for me. Thank you."

She turns back to the group.

"Before we get deep into story time... Saige, why are you hiding? This isn't like you. What's going on? "
