Return From The Library

Storm reaches into her desk and pulls out some sheets of paper and turns to Saige. "You can absolutely draw more pictures to confuse people. I quite enjoy your drawings myself. And maybe while you draw, I can share some stories from things my crew and I did in the past couple years."

Saige immediately hops up and goes to the desk, giggling mischievously.

“I’ll have to think of who to send these to. I wonder what would happen if I sent them to people I’ve never met?” She gets settled and looks to Storm. “Hit me, I want to hear all of them!”

Storm pulls out the chair at the desk for Saige to sit and then heads over to the bed and sits down. "Hmmm... Let me think... So this one time, we were up late at the tavern in some small, no name town in Foresetidale. Lyra thought it would be fun to set the drinks on fire and take the shot without setting ourselves on fire. Except.... Nyx knocked hers over and fire spread all over the table. Stella was quick though and ripped off her cloak to smother the flames. We uh... We got kicked out of that tavern and had to sleep in some farmers barn that we snuck into." She smiles as she reminisces. "Stella and I stayed up all night under the stars. It was... It was nice." She coughs and winces. "Except Lyra accidentally set the barn on fire and... Well... We got chased out of town for that one." She laughs.

Saige listens intently as she draws at the desk. She laughs at the last bit.

"Sounds like something I would do. I think I would have really liked your friends." Saige turns to Storm, smiling warmly. "We should totally visit on our trip if we pass by, see if they rebuilt it! Only if you want to though."

She turns back to the desk, attempting to get her hair out of her face but failing. She gives up and moves to switch colors, then continues her drawing.

"What was it like where you grew up?"

Storm laughs. "Yeah, I think that you would have gotten along with them really well. Probably would have made our adventures that much more chaotic." She shrugs and looks down at the floor. "I grew up pretty isolated. We lived pretty far from town so I didn't have any friends to play with or anything. When my parents died, I left and started adventuring. So I've been all over the place and seen a lot of things. But my childhood was pretty boring. My father hunted, my mother gathered. They're the one's who taught me most of what I know about surviving in the wilderness. We had to. Since we were so far from civilization." She lifts her head and nods to the crackling glaive leaning against the wall. "My mother gifted that to me when I was younger. Right before she died. It's the only thing I have from my childhood actually."

Saige stops drawing as Storm describes her childhood.

“I wish I had met you when we were little, we could have had all kinds of adventures!”

She gets up and walks over to the bed, taking Storm's hands.

"Don't worry Storm, you don't ever have to be alone again. You're stuck with me.” Saige grins. “You might have to drag me away from a few giant shiny rocks though.”
