Jade passing time

Jade slowly blinks as she is questioned. A small silent moment passes before she speaks.

"It seems to me that rank has no meaning here so I will save my breath on that part. I also gather that you aren't as knowledgeable as you seem on necromancy and diffrent races as I assumed. My apologies for having such high assumptions about you. I am a well trained haltija. One who has studied at the feet of the elders. I have gained the interest of not only the former and current litch of the graveyard but the primarch of the plain of darkness himself. So I would say my qualifications are adequate to say the least...."

Jade sighs and rolls her eyes.

"While we are on the topic of qualifications I think we should turn the spotlight towards you. Surely as the upcoming new headmaster of the academy you have quite the knowledge or spells and other magical dealings? Surely you must be someone who can hold his own well in a situation of combat? And if all of this is true then where were you at the war on the graveyard? For I did not see you on the battlefield. Maybe... Just maybe.... Is it because you... aren't? Could it possibly be that you were cowering in your academy while the true deserving headmaster was giving his life for the betterment of the land? And now that Zackary is dead you scramble to cling to a title and an organization you don't deserve. Because if you did deserve such a grand occupation as this then you would be aware of who I am... WHAT I am... And WHAT I am capable of..."

Jade stares at the man with an icy glance. The dark energy that flows from her eyes darkens as she speaks.

"Be careful to not break your neck. It's a long fall from your tower of arrogance."

Jade turns and leaves immediately without waiting for a response.

Acting Headmaster Dreven listens to Jade's speech and then watches as she leaves. "Haltija hm? Thought they were mostly extinct by now." He shrugs. "Well, that was certainly an interesting experience. I'll make sure to add it to my notes on Haltija."

He turns to face Miquella. "We require a certain... dedication to study here at the Academy. If I am enough to deter you from your education then what you seek will always be out of reach."

Miquella rolls his eyes and just looks at Selena, “Yeah..I would much rather learn her than this pompous ass.” He looks back at the man looking him up and down. Analyzing his appearance before leaving.

Selena snorts and shrugs, looking at Dreven.
"Great choice making you headmaster. Gonna do real well." Her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Little advice from one leader to technically another. Being an ass does nothing but insure no one will actually be loyal to you. It really is better to make friends than enemies."

She rolls her eyes and picks up the crate. "Those two are going to be great leaders of this kingdom, and you just pissed both of them off."

She rolls her eyes again, fidgeting with her ring with her thumb for moment. "Good job dumbass. Activate." A cloud of darkness envelopes Selena and 10 feet around her, her and her crate of traps gone by the time it dissipates.

Dreven holds his chin high. "Again. If I am enough to deter someone from their education, they are sorely lacking in dedication and won't likely find the answers they seek elsewhere. Things don't just fall into people's laps. You must work hard for your rewards." He scoffs. "This Academy is not owned by your kingdom, so whether they will be good leaders or not, holds no weight here. I care not. I only care that the individuals we entrust with our knowledge are worthy of it. And clearly those two are not."

He walks over to the desk after Selena and Miquella leave and wipes the surface with two fingers, pulling them back and grimacing at the slight sticky residue left on his fingers. "Good riddance."

He turns on his heels and heads back down the hall, humming softly to himself.
