The Prince and The Orcs

Kalil chuckles. "I'll uh... I'll keep you in mind if I need any wolves." He rubs the back of his head and shrugs. "As for the stuff, I know you were running low last time so I wanted to make sure you had some stuff to use." He grins. "And that rock is from my horde. I figure since we're friends, I'd share a rock with you too."

“I’ll treasure it forever!” Saige admires the stone, happily turning it over in her hand. She looks confused for a moment, then says, “If you hoard rocks, and I hoard rocks, does that mean I am a dragon too? I don’t have any scales.” She reaches up to touch her face, feeling for scales but only finding dirt.

As if remembering something suddenly, she quickly digs through her bag, retrieving a small bottle. “I almost forgot! Drink this.” She holds it out to Kalil expectantly.

He chuckles. "I don't exactly horde rocks but it was part of my collection." He takes the vial and pops the cork, taking a sniff. He recoils and huffs. "Smells strong. What is it?"

“Paralyze poison!” Saige grins mischievously, her sharp teeth poking out. “You wanted to start working on resisting them, right?”

Kalil pauses for a second to register and then laughs. "You're right. I did say I wanted to learn to resist them. Thankfully I can a few times but I need to get better at it."

He shrugs and drinks the vial. By the time his hand drops to his side again, his whole body tenses as he becomes paralyzed. A few seconds pass and he shakes it off. He grins.

"See? I can resist it a little bit."

“Good job!” Saige laughs, thrilled that Kalil drank the poison. “Now you just need to visit my home for a few days, they’ll have you brushing off all kinds of poisons in no time.”

She glances back one more time at her handiwork at the tree, then starts walking back into the village, motioning for Kalil to follow.

“Let me know when you’re heading back to the manor, I have something really really important to tell a few people! For now though we can just help out around here.”
