Noble Court - June of 622

Jade steps forward from behind Eclipse and finally speaks up.

"Honestly I think that would be a fitting punishment. We have heard her side. We know her truth. There is no other question that can be asked that hadn't been already. The faceless one wants justice. The faceless one wants blood. But spilling her blood will do nothing but anger the common folk. They will rise up and revolt. Another option has been presented. Turn this woman. Turn her into an undead under the control of the faceless one. Place her children in the care of the local orphanage and in one year's time reverse it all. Let her feel the hatred of others. Let her live as they live to learn her lesson."

Jade's normal blank expression becomes a little heated as she stares down the woman.

The dark knightmaster speaks up. "I agree. Turn her into a smaller greater so she's still her, however, make her work in town, and for more than a year. Make her be around those that hate undeath. If she's with the Faceless one in the graveyard, she won't experience the same as those undead simply trying to continue on with their new versions of life."

She takes a deep breath. "And obviously remove custody. Her children will be looked after in my orphanage and educated on the importance of the balance. Should the children wish to have her in their lives when they are old enough to decide that, they can then make the choice to reconcile or not."

Rachelle stands from her seat suddenly. "I disagree." She looks around the room nervously. "Um... That is to say. I disagree with making her undead. I think she should work in the Guild of Light. She can tend to people who come in wounded. Some of those people were attacked by undead. It would force her to see the consequences of her actions. How she put the town in danger." Rachelle sits back down then immediately stands back up. "And taking her children from her punishes the children who are completely innocent in this. We cannot take children so young away from their mother. It wouldn't be right." She sits back down finally and nods her head as I'd confirming to herself that she is done.

"Make her work in the guild to further build a hatred of undead so she repeats her actions again? I think not. It would be better for her atonement if she walks in the footsteps of those she has wronged. And one more set of hands helping rebuild is always nice."

Jade breaks her gaze at the woman and looks to all the nobles.

"You all may seek a softer punishment for this woman. You may see someone you love in her. But let us not forget that the faceless one is here to collect a debt. She has been wronged. She told ME personally that she wants BLOOD. And if something isn't done then she will take it herself. A royal treaty was broken. This could end in war if not handled properly. Is that what you want? A war against undead? They don't need sleep. They do not thirt or hunger. We the living do. And if war breaks out our dead only add to their army."

Jade looks at Rachell right in her eyes.

"Don't let your soft heart cloud your judgment..."

Selena starts to speak in rebuttal to Rachelle, but is silenced by Jade's speech. A small smile forming on her lips as she simply waves a hand towards her in agreement.

"And my draconian army cannot get involved to save you all from this war. Sure I have the undead, but The Faceless one is far a stronger dark mage than I am and could easily take them, especially since she's the one that gave most of them to me in the first place. So, the two biggest armies protecting the kingdom would be useless."
