An explanation for a complex emotion

“One does not need to love one another to be family. There are plenty of people in this world who love one another and do not want to start a family. Burning down a house is not common. I do not have the urge to burn down Alarics property. However, I do kiss him from time to time. Marriage is a delectation of love between two people who establish themselves as partners for life. To protect one another. Cherish one another. Be with one another. However, that is not to say that love does not fade.”

Jade nods as she listens.

"Sorry I had a hard time explaining it. I have never felt these emotions for myself so it was hard to convey. I knew how you felt with your partner so I felt it was best to come here."

Saige begins to listen to Miquella’s words, but as he goes on, they make less and less sense.

“So… I’m for sure not dying?”

She looks between Jade and Miquella.

He sighs, “No Saige. You are not dying. You are in love.”

Saige processes his words and says nothing for a moment. After a few seconds, she speaks up again.

“I think I need to talk to my mom…. Can we go see her? I need to introduce you anyway.”

She gasps.

“Jade! Basil showed up! So you can do the love thing with him!”
