A Half Fiend in Seshtau colors...

"I was sending your inquiry to one of my nobles; The Lord Seneschal of Seshtau."
As he reaches for his fresh mug of ale, there is another slight 'pop' as a bit of folded parchment appears on the counter in front of Maximilian. He unfolds it and reads the message, and then with a sigh, tosses the parchment back onto the counter where it instantly disintegrates.
"Honestly..." He mutters under his breath before looking up at Blodwulf. "Very well, I will endorse your application. That means that I will be teaching you what you need to know, what is expected of you, and what you can expect. You will answer to me and will be under the protection of Seshtau until such a time your trial is completed at which point I will present you to the Baroness for her final decision."
He leans in, his voice low and his expression serious once again, "Joining Seshtau is not easy. You will be tested by your ability as well as your loyalty. As your endorser, I am personally responsible for you as long as you serve under Seshtau's banner until your trials are done. This means your mistakes are my mistakes. Make me a fool, and I will kill you."
He sits back and smiles, "Other than that, if you need anything, I'll be your point of contact, so feel free to ask."

Smiling to himself, he says " I won't let you down, sir. You'll come to realize, I'm really handy in a fight. Could teach you a thing or two" He laughs while giving Maximilian a small punch on the shoulder. "In all seriousness, I won't embarrass you. I don't waste opportunities, and I damn sure don't burn bridges. Especially not with half fiends." He says shaking his head. "Unpredictable. And for some reason, you've gained my trust."

The Half Fiend raises an eyebrow and looks down at his shoulder where the human punched him. He then looks back up and nods, "That is wise... and I thank you. I am in desperate need of washing the dust from my travels out of my mouth."
Maximilian leans against the bar and studies the human carefully. "I hope you have at least somewhat of an understanding as to what you are getting yourself into. The resources we can provide are vast indeed, however what we expect of our citizens is quite a bit more than other baronies. Unyielding loyalty is merely the point of the spear."

"Based on the information you've given me, I'd like a little while to think things over, Maximilian." Blodwulf says as he touches the pommel of his sword again. "If thats alright, I mean."

Maximilian nods and then lifts his drink to his lips, taking a long swig before answering.
"I believe that to be wise. Be sure of your desire to walk under our flag and your willingness to serve in order to have the honor of wearing our colors."
The Half Fiend reaches down to straighten the black and red quartered belt badge laying across his lap.
"These colors represent much more than just an affiliation. It is the flesh, spirit, blood, and bone that has built, rebuilt, guarded and provided for this great barony since its inception. It is a family, fierce and protective. As I've stated, our resources are vast, but so are our expectations of those who would enjoy them."

Walking back into the tavern "I still say we should have killed those little winged freaks, sir. We had the information we needed as far as the location of the fisherman and such" He says while smoothing his new favor of Seshtau. "Just a shame we can't claim the chest for ourselves and call it a day." He says, shaking his head. "But... it isn't my call on who we take from."
