A Half Fiend in Seshtau colors...

The Half Fiend turns his head toward the voice as the human speaks.
"Likely as not. Days and nights start to blend after a while. I'm surprised I can remember what's up from down. But I have dispatched some bandits from that area so it's possible."

He takes the proffered hand and shakes it firmly.
"Maximilian Phantomrose of Seshtau. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

He turns back to his plate and mops the plate with his remaining bread and shoves it summarily into his mouth. He takes another long swig from his mug, draining it of the last bit of ale, then sets the mug on the plate and pushes them aside.

He then turns back to Blodwulf, "You don't look familiar. What brings you to Volaire?"

" l used to be a gate gaurd for the kingdom, 6 or 7 years ago." He says, while smoothing his red beard down.

"I'm actually looking for someone. He was part of the 6th infantry regiment, gave some troop movement information to a pack of orcs, real nasty bastards, anyway... this information got the patrol ambushed and it also got my brother killed. I'm looking for this horses arse so I can return the favor. Happened about a month ago or so. You hear of any patrols being attacked? Or more importantly any traitors to the crown?" He says.

"Two more mugs of ale, milady."

Maximilian scratches his beard in contemplation, "Orcs, Ogres, Goblins, Trolls... There've been attacks all over the place. Can't say I recall reports of any ambush... although that's above my paygrade, especially the topic of treason. I'm usually just a messenger, although my messages are generally delivered by the point of a blade."

He sits back, relaxing on his seat and wrapping his spaded tail around a leg of his bar stool to keep his balance.

"I suppose I could ask my nobles if there have been any such reports if it's that important to you. I fully support the journey of vengeance. Death begets death, simple as that."

He looks Blodwulf up and down, "You look like you can handle yourself, but I feel I should mention that even if this guy you're after has committed treason, murder is still murder," He leans in and lowers his voice, "so you might ought to take care with that. Especially since you don't seem to be wearing any colours to cover your arse if the wrong people catch on."

Lowering his voice as well. "What are these "correct colors" and how do I get them?" He says eyeing the half friends shield. "Or is that need to know?"

Maximilian chuckles and the corner of his mouth curls into a grin.
"Well, I suppose everyone has their own opinion of which colours are the correct ones. It depends on where your own values lie and with whom they align."

He glances over to his shield leaning against the wall and then back to Blodwulf.
"Aligning oneself with a Barony or Guild can be beneficial; it can offer you protection, status, resources... the likes of which you would never find without one."

Beginning to smile himself.
"Where do your values lie? Resources and status do sound like a good deal to me." He says, "does that also come with information?"
