Buttons and Bones

"Okay okay, let's go!" Saige gets onto the cart and looks around curiously. "You know, I don't think I've ever been on one of these things."

She sits holding the button, fangs poking out from a content smile.

"How long do you think it will take to get there? We could tell stories, and sing songs, and play the colors poison shots game, and pick up bones on the way, and what if-" she stares at Storm intently, "what if I hung off the side of the cart so I can pick up rocks while we're moving?"

"You can hang off the side of the cart as long as you hang on tight and dodge the trees well. I don’t want you getting hurt okay?" She chuckles at Saige's excitement then climbs aboard the cart and sits beside her vampire friend. "I think its about a day and a half there and a day and a half back. Assuming we only run into mild trouble. Faster if we run into no trouble." She looks over her shoulder at the cart of goodies and then sighs. "Count on trouble." Then she whips the reigns and the horses begin to exit the safety of the stables.

Saige pauses on hanging off the side to ask, "You think there will be trouble? What kind of trouble?" She looks back and forth from Storm to the back of the cart, eyebrow raised. "Should I hide in the back so that way I can jump out and eat someone?"

"I'm sure there will be some who come after our cart for the goods. Even if they don't know what we have." She glances at Saige. "I actually think it's safer if we're both out here. May help deter some of them. Don't worry though. We can handle some bandits."

“Oh yeah, I can for sure punch some bandits.” Saige grins widely, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

She then lays down in the front of the cart, poised to grab rocks as the cart moves.

“So Storm, what made you come to Volaire? Or are you from Volaire? I didn’t really see you until the tavern that time.”

"Nah. I'm not from Volaire. Just happened across it in my travels and it has been the most intersting place I've been in some time." Storm grins at Saige before turning her attention back to the horses reigns. "I'm from a small village north of Volaire. I left a long time ago though. My parents died in the war against Lilith so I had no reason to stay. Made some friends and traveled around for a while hunting bounties and doing odd jobs for coin." She sighs and frowns a little. "Goblins killed my friends and I found my way here. Decided you lot seemed interesting and that I'd stay a while."
