Noble Court - The Crown vs Saige

Jade places her hands on the table and clasps them together. Jade watches as Miquella speaks but notices Saige's movements. She glances over and watches.

His eyes meets hers and the slightest shake of his head happens. A simple indication of 'dont'.

As Miquella shakes his head, Saige’s cracked and bloody lips curl up into a foxlike grin. Her eyes become more alive as the rage continues to burn in them.

Miquella gives a subtle look to Conner and then shifts his eyes quickly to Saige and back.

*Blodwulf makes it to the trial and stands at the back of the crowd. He whispers to himself*

"Saige. What have you done?"

Connor turns to Miquella and smiles,
"You are absolutely correct in your interpretation of those laws, Guildmaster. And may I thank you for making my first point for me."

He turns his attention back to the Nobles seated around the table, "As the Guildmaster kindly pointed out, these laws were chosen and enacted to protect the wellbeing of all inhabitants of this fair and just kingdom. It is true that any citizen violating these laws is subject to Noble Justice...."

He pauses, raising a finger to sweep a strand of hair behind his ear, "However, it seems to me that we've forgotten one thing... Saige here, as of the time all these charges have been brought upon her, was not a citizen. She was, in fact, a direct representative of the interests of not one but two different recognized nations. That of the Goblinoids and that of the Spiders, as I'm sure the Spider Queen Calista Fateweaver will happily attest to. As such, at the time she was accused of this alleged crime, Saige was a royal emissary, which would grant her diplomatic immunity from anything as commonplace as assault."

Connor sits back in his seat and sighs with feigned disinterest, "So, respectfully Guildmaster, do you have any evidence to present that would break the rights given to a Diplomatic Emissary, or are we wasting everyone's time here?"
