I’m not a wannabe mage!

”Ah, I’m what I call a battlemage. I can do some minor spells but I believe I’m much more proficient in potions and alchemy.”

Astra grabs some bottles of varying sizes and shapes from her bag, placing them on the table. Bottles shaped like hearts, cubes, vials…it looks as if she has been gathering this for awhile.

“I’ve got oils, potions, salves, and charms…they’re all homemade…”

She reaches back down, pulling out a sword, salts, and different herbs. She places down small packets with various herbs. Lavender, mugwort, daffodils, rose petals, etc.

“I’ve got a way to create a vorpal sword, pride of my creations so far. Herbs, spices, and various bottles, tubing, and things for my own make-shift alchemy kit too…”

She looks back up to Miss Kethri, a bit embarrassed as her face blushes out in a red shade.

“My apologies, I tend to need out when it comes to potions and magic. My brother was a master at it and I want to be like him.

Kethri nods. "Well, we can certainly help on your path. We have a fairly decent alchemy and potions lab. Nothing too extensive but I can see about getting you access. If you are serious about joining the Mages Guild." She smiles. "Oh! What type of magic do you intend to specialize in?"

”My specialization… uhm..”

She ponders for a moment. She looks over her potions, thinking about the choice. The potions glitter in the light, as if speaking to her.

”I think I’d like to start into light and dark magic if at all possible. Then move into others.”

"Hm." Kethri folds her hands in front of her on the table. "The thing about magic is that you cannot harness the power of opposites at the same time. What I mean by that is, should you learn Darkness magics, you would be unable to wield Light magics. It's the same for the elements as well. If you learn Fire, you cannot wield Ice, and so on." She shrugs. "I prefer the Darker magics myself and would be happy to teach you what I know. I also wield Fire magic if you chose to go down the elemental path." She nods her head in the direction of what would be the Guild of Light. "The Guild of Light could teach you Light magics. They are home to the best Light mages I know."

”I’ve always been a fan of darker magicks myself, being an occult hunter myself. Living in the Sidhe, things tended to use dark magicks for their own gains…so I think Dark magicks and and Fire magicks could be fun to learn, especially from you if you are seriously offering.”

She ponders for a moment, ”So, I think I’ve made up my mind. Is there some kind of paperwork or…?”

Kethri smiles. "No paper work necessary. Let me acquire a favor for you. As long as you are wearing our favor, you are representing the Mages Guild. Make us proud. Wait here." She stands from the table and heads down a hallway.

A few minutes pass before she returns carrying a blue and silver favor. "Here you are, Astra. Welcome to the Mages Guild. I promise to introduce you to Guildmaster Edgewood next time he is available."
