Saige's Training

Storm smiles. "We'll find them. We found Valerian, right? We just need to take care of that fire shark thing first. And get into Tuatha."

Kalil folds his arms across his chest as he thinks. "Do you know about where in Tuatha your sibling is?"

"Ginger's in a village. I don't know which one. I would go look but the border is closed." She nervously rubs her hands together. "And I haven't heard back from Selena about Laurel."

She lowers her voice as she speaks again.

"Kalil, do you know anything about what's going to happen with Leib Olmai? Cassia is out there. If we're going to war, what will they do to him?"

Kalil sighs. "I really don't know a lot about the Leib Olmai situation but I wouldn't be too worried about Cassia. You aren't a high ranking noble or anything so I don't see them using him as a tool in this. They probably don't even know who they have, which is good for him. He doesn't have any influence or information about us over here so I see no reason they would harm him for anything."

Sylissa and Ruvean are now listening intently.

Kalil shrugs. "I really don't see why he was taken- was he taken?- in the first place. There's no reason I can think of." He lowers his arms and turns to Saige with a serious look on his face. "You have to understand though that because of tensions between our kingdoms, getting him back is going to be tricky. It won't be as simple as just going and getting him. We have to be careful how we go about this or it could make things worse and put him in danger. Right now he probably isn't in any danger but that could easily change if things escalate."

"They have to want him for something, otherwise I don't think they would have taken him. What benefit would it be to them to take him unless it gave them some kind of advantage?"

She sighs.

"I just don't understand..."

Kalil shrugs. "I really don't get it either honestly. It doesn't make a lot of sense to take someone like Cassia."

Sylissa takes Ruvean's hand and they share a concerned look before Sylissa drops Ruvean's hand and walks up to Saige.

"Maybe he'll escape. He's small. He can hide somewhere until help comes." She suggests before pulling Saige into her arms and squeezing her. When she releases Saige and holds her shoulders and looks into her eyes. "Now. There's no sense in worrying about what we can't do anything about right now. Help me wrangle the twins. I think they are up to something."

She turns her head in time to catch the twins next to Kalil's feet and opening a vial. They pause before pouring the vial out onto his boots and grin before putting the vial in one of their mouths and they scrambling away.

Saige returns her mother's hug tightly, taking a deep breath.

"Wha-" Saige watches as the twins attempt to prank Kalil, and she grins as well. "You should really watch your back around here, Kalil. My siblings are menaces."

She laughs and chases after them, using her own vials of paste of stickiness on her hands to grab them, then squeezes them into a hug.

"Ha! Now you can't escape!"
