Nighttime Drinks

Astra looks up at Saige, and then over at Max with a smile. “I see you’re pretty purple man to her.”

She notes Saige looking at her cards, showing them to her. The cards are black on the back with silver sides, making the deck a bit shiny as it sits in the tavern lights. “Do you want your fortune read instead of Bloodwulf? He’s busy downing his ales.”

Mari looks to Saige once more. "Don't get eaten." She shoots a glance to Max, then quickly scurries out the door and into the first tree she finds.

“Hmmmmmm…… I wish they weren’t made out of dead trees, that makes me sad, but maybe if we tell the tree thank you first? Then it should be fine, right?”

Saige thinks for a minute.

“Rosemary would probably kill me for this, but I’m going to try it! What kind of things do they tell you?”

She says a little thank you to the tree before looking to Astra expectantly.

"We will do our best. Miss Mari." Astra smiles, waving her off.

"A rock... Hmm... I see." Maximilian takes another sip from his mug and then places it on the table, turning in his chair to face the other occupied table.

"The name is Maximilian, but it seems the denizens of these lands have a tendency to rename others, so it's something I've become accustomed to."

He smirks and wiggles his fingers in farewell to Mari as she scowls at him.

”I shall do the same, to respect your culture.”

Astra whispers a small thank you to the trees, listening to Saige’s question before continuing.

”Well Miss Saige, the cards can tell you many things. They can provide you with inner wisdom, letting your subconscious come fourth to help you make decisions for your problems. While they do not tell the future, they can help aid you with advice for the future. How to react, how to be your best self.”

Astra sits the cards in front of Saige.

“Now, just hold the cards to you chest and take a few deep breaths. Calm your mind for a moment. Then, think of a question you would like to ask. You do not need to share it with me if you do not wish to.”
