Astra digs around in her bag for a moment, before pulling out a golden necklace. The pendant has three circles and a miniature timer. It has a few moving parts. Astra touches the circles, showing them to spin and turn over the timer again. The stark white sand twirls inside.
“He called it a time spinner. He had gotten it from his boyfriend who had gone with him the last time I saw him. He was happy. Told me he had a duty to do but said he’d come back once he finished.”
