A Tovi arrives in town...

Connor taps his chin while he thinks. "I guess it couldn't hurt to check. Or would it hurt you? I know sometimes Selena's visions are painful. I don't want you to get hurt doing it. So far I have no reason to suspect them of anything though. They've done nothing but help so far."

Kalil shrugs. "Maybe there's nothing to worry about but if it won't risk her... It may be worth checking. Just in case. Can't hurt to be too careful."

Edgar smiles at the news that the rolls are ok, then nods in agreement with Connor and Kalil. "If it wouldn't hurt you to look. What would you need to connect to them? Or do you need anything with using runes?"

About 10 minutes after she'd darted away, Zinna returns carrying two large baskets covered with cloth and a wide smile. "Strawberry and blueberry muffins! It's not many, just a couple dozen."

She smiles and turns to two of the soldiers holding out the baskets to them. "Please go around and pass these out to whoever looks hungry."
Zinna smiles wide as the soldiers bow their heads and head off to pass out the muffins to the towns people. With a final nod of satisfaction, Zinna bounces back over to her seat, her jewelry jingling with every step. "There! That's a good start! And I put some small meat pies in the oven when I was at the manor."

Vesta raises an eyebrow at the name of Selena, but continues on with the conversation.

"I wouldn't worry about it, it rarely ever hurts." She smiles. "And I just need my runestones, I'll grab them once breakfast is set out. Princess Zinna, would you like to help me ice the cinnamon rolls? I could use an extra set of hands."

After breakfast is served, and the table is full of baked goods and a pitcher of fresh water, Vesta goes and retrieves her stones. She sits on the doorstep of the vardo and takes a deep breath before shaking the bag. Slowly, she pulls four stones, without looking, and setting them down. Her expression immediately grows concerned.

"I think you may want to check into those carriages after all..." She picks up the runes and examines them. "Darkness, shadow, confusion, wealth... There's definitely an unknown here, hidden intentions. They are hiding something big, that is for certain. There is abundance, yes, but caution must be had. I don't like this. At all."

She turns to the group holding the stones in her hand, a large frown on her face.

Kalil let's out a "hmph" and digs into the food presented to him.

Connor, meanwhile, picks at the food as Vesta delivers her fortune. "Huh. Okay. Well then... I'll see what we can find out."

Kalil swallows and shrugs. "You know I'll help you look into it." He smiles at Vesta. "This is delicious, Vesta."

Zinna gladly helps finish preparing and setting up breakfast, lightly slapping Edgar's hand away as he immediately tries to grab a cinnamon roll as she sets the plate on the table.

As Vesta gets her stones and begins to do her thing, Edgar pays close attention to her, quickly glancing to Zinna for a moment before turning back to watch Vesta. Upon seeing nothing but stones being pulled out of a bag, he relaxes slightly and smiles, then frowns at the results.
"Darkness doesn't always mean bad though. I know you've been raised to believe that, as has most of your people, but it's really not as bad as many make it out to be. Darkness has it's positive uses just like every other . And I have known some nice shadow people... hmm.. We'll definitely have to look into it a bit further."

As everyone starts to dig in, Edgar waits for Vesta to join, standing up to pull her chair out for her, before finally grabs the cinnamon roll he'd been eyeing since Zinna set the plate down. Also making sure to grab several other available pastries. Smiling widely like a child with a favorite dish as he eats, pointing at a pastry and nodding his head, giving the thumbs up to Vesta.

Zinna laughs. "That's Edgar speak for it's very delicious! Thank you Vesta."

"Of course! I'm glad you are enjoying it. Thank you all for helping."

Vesta smiles to everyone at the table, then focuses on Edgar.

"I agree that darkness is not always a bad thing. It has its place like most things. After all, there are no stars without darkness. I just do not find it a coincidence that out of all my runes, I pulled three out of the four that can represent unknown intentions. They could mean other things as well. And wealth being thrown in there is tricky. Because it could just be representing the abundance of food that they are passing out, or it could represent success. But success of what? The people getting fed, or the hidden intentions of the carriages?"

She sighs.

"Runes only give so much information. But it's a start. I can try and look closer."

Vesta leans back in her chair, hands reaching out for the table to steady herself. A few moments pass, and her expression does not change. She finally blinks and releases the table.

"Nothing. Oh well. I trust you'll update me on what you find? I must admit my curiosity is piqued."
