A Tovi arrives in town...

As Vesta tells her story, Zinna looks shocked that the man would propose, and then proud that Raissa pushed him in the lake. "I know your sister can be a bitch, but I ave to admit dat I am on her side wit dis one. How dare he?! If it is known dat dis boy likes jour sister, den it is known she does not feel de same vay. If it is not known, how dare he not try to woo her, or give her a reason to vant to marry him." Zinna sits back in her chair, taking a deep breath before she speaks again. "If dey ave been friends for avhile, she probably could have been a bit nicer. Maybe pushing him in de lake was a bit too much. It is less dan I vould do if some random boring male tried to propose to me, especially at my sister's gathering, but I can be a bit mean some times, and I don't like men. Dese men are ok. Dey ave been trained proper. But most men, are garbage."

Edgar does his best not to listen in, but cannot completely hide the grin on his face.

Vesta laughs at Zinna's comments about their company, then says, "Stars help whoever ends up marrying Raissa. And me, probably."

She moves closer to the table to prop her head up with an arm, and switches back to common to speak.

"At least I'm confident that Raissa will take care of the clan, if nothing else. Hopefully they're far enough away that the food shortage won't affect them. Or whatever happened to the town, for that matter." She raises an eyebrow. "How did it get to this state?"

"I am actually not all dat sure. I know it vas shadow, but I vas..."

"It was a group in shadow that attacked. The primarch and the commander are still allies, but there's apparently some people in the planes that don't like... peace. So they've decided to start causing problems for us."

Kalil looks up from his conversation with Connor when Vesta asks what happened. "Honestly, Vesta, all
I know is what I heard in passing coming here. Shadow attacked the town and left it devastated. I don't really know all the details because Selena was still busy when I came through and I didn't feel like I should interrupt whatever she had going on." He sighs. "All of it happened while we were with the Tovi's though so there was nothing we really could have done to help."

Connor nods. "But we can help now. Which is why I think the idea you and Zinna had about passing out food would be a good idea. I'll stop by the Guild of Light at some point too and see if there is any more healing to be done."

Kalil shrugs. "We can head over when we finish breakfast. Not like we can't push training back for something like this."

Connor smiles at Kalil. "I take it you're planning to join me?"

Kalil nods. "Of course. I can pass out potions and offer first aid at least. I'm not entirely useless. Assuming there's a need for that anyways."

Connor chuckles and nods. "It's a plan then." He looks to Vesta. "What are your plans for the day, Vesta? I don't want to just abandon you."

Vesta's brow furrows as everyone explains the events that occurred.

"That sounds awful. I'm sorry that this happened."

She stands up and begins collecting empty plates, placing them in a wash basin.

Replying to Connor, she says, "I suppose I don't really have any plans. I would offer to come assist you, but I don't think I could do much good." She turns to Zinna. "Princess? Any adventures I could keep you company on?"

"Oh! Why don't you come introduce yourself to the Guildmaster? Since you'll be out here helping distribute food and the Guild will probably jump in on it too. It may be worth it to meet him?" Kalil asks, starting to stand. "I'm sure he'll be happy to meet you. Though he may try to get you to join."

As Kalil chuckles, Connor stands up beside him. "He may try but I think he's got more important things on his mind than gaining members right now." Connor shrugs. "Still, could be worth it to meet him if you wanted."
